In Loving Memory of Cap Wise
For Cap
I drove six hours, round trip, to get you off the euthanasia list. The moment we met, you smiled at me and wrapped your big paw around me— and just like that, you were ours.
You were our big, gentle giant— sweet, calm, and fiercely loyal. Where we sat, you sat. Where we went, you went. Always close, always watching, as if loving us was your full-time job.
I will always treasure our quiet mornings on the couch— just the two of us. Me with my coffee, you sitting close beside me. Those peaceful moments, sitting in the quiet with you, meant more than I can ever put into words.
You loved car rides with Billy Joel blasting on the stereo, morning walks down Market Street, and stopping to say hello to every neighbor— because to you, everyone was a friend worth meeting.
You loved ricotta cheese (of course you did). I always said it was because you were Italian at heart.
You were devoted to cookies— faithfully guarding the jar and waking Dad in the middle of the night for what you believed was a completely reasonable request.
You loved everyone you met… well, almost everyone. Cats never quite earned your trust.
You filled our home with comfort, laughter, and a love so steady it changed us.
We thought we were giving you a soft place to land, but you gave us something far greater.
Thank you for choosing us. Thank you for staying as long as you could.
We love you always, sweet Cap. Rest easy, our loyal, gentle boy. 🐾💙
