Lillie is a 2 year old 55 lbs black lab female. She is spayed and heart worm negative. Lillie needs a quieter home as she is just learning to be indoors and can be shy and timid. We are convinced that her last family wasn’t very nice to her. She is a little scared at first, but once she warms up you will never have a more loyal companion. She does cower at loud noises or if someone approaches her quickly. When she first came to our home she would not come inside at all. If was as if she thought she would get in big trouble for crossing the threshold of the door. She was also unsure of walking on our tile because it is very slick. Slowly but surely, she started becoming more comfortable going in and out of the house and getting around on the tile. After just 2 weeks she runs in and out like a pro and will go most places on the tile. She gets more comfortable in our home every day. We are very proud of her progress. She also learned to love her crate in a short time. She likes to snuggle! She does fine with her foster brother and sister but is very demanding of your attention and doesn’t want to share her humans. A home with just one other pet or her being an only dog would be best. Lillie absolutely loves playing in the yard and going for walks. A nice sized yard is a must for Lillie. Young children are probably not a good fit either. Lillie will require a calm, patient person that is willing to let her become comfortable in your home on her own time. She is a smart, sweet and very loving dog that just hasn’t had the best start in life. Once she gets her confidence back she will be an amazing part of the family.
